Yvette Marie Mulholland, 73, of Smithfield Rhode Island passed away on April 5, 2024, surrounded by her closest family members. Yvette was predeceased by her parents, Salomon and Esther Englehart, and her siblings Donna Hanley and Jack and Roda Englehart.
Yvette is survived by her sister, Doreen McArthur, husband, Richard Mulholland, daughter, Laura Linback, her treasured granddaughter, Audrey Linback, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
It is an impossible task to squeeze the totality of Yvette’s impact into a few paragraphs in the obituary column. Yvette spent her career as a nurse extender at Our Lady of Fatima hospital in North Providence, RI. It was here that she met her husband Richard, and both remained here until their retirement. “The hospital” became a bit of a family business and her daughter Laura joined the staff at age 16, filling multiple different roles over the years. Yvette touched so many people during her tenure at OLF that it was rare for her to leave the house without running into someone with a fond memory to share. This continued to the very end, with an encounter on the ICU moments before she died.
Yvette spent many wonderful, silly summers camping at Indian Ranch in Webster, MA with her sister Doreen - they built an incredible community of friends who became family, and the Twisted Sisters will go down in infamy. It was rare for her to tell a story about the ranch without dissolving into laughter - so many antics with golf carts, pumpkintinis, cookouts, and concerts. When not at the ranch, Yvette loved so many people, places, and things. We will always think of her when visiting the mountains in NH, eating clamcakes at Iggy’s, booking our next cruise, or dreaming of warmer weather in Florida.
After leaving the camper at the ranch for good, Yvette’s life began to revolve around her granddaughter Audrey. She would often say that Audrey was HER baby, and that was difficult to deny. Audrey was truly the love of her life, and their bond is indescribable to anyone who was not lucky enough to witness it. It cannot be quantified how significant a loss this is for Audrey, who loves her Memere to the moon and back.
Yvette knew what it was to live, and what it was to love. All we can ask is that in her honor, if you are reading this, you try to embody that aspect of her every day. Hug the people you love, and make sure they know.
A Memorial Gathering will be held for Yvette at Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, RI on Wednesday, April 10th from 4-7. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made in Yvette’s name to Girls on the Run RI - www.gotrri.org.
