Cocozza, Yolanda Marie (DiCicco) passed away peacefully on June 3, 2010 while enveloped in the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin E. Cocozza. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Margaret (Mancini) DiCicco.
She is survived by her two daughters: Marilyn Cocozza Trillo and her husband Representative Joseph A. Trillo, and Dr. Patricia Cocozza Ricci and her husband Dr. Anthony R. Ricci. Her grandchildren are Erika Kruse Weller, Esq., Marcus S. Ricci, Felicia L. Ricci, and Tessa M. Ricci. She was the sister of Marie Maratta and the late Elenora Garzone.
She resided in North Providence and was previously employed as a bookkeeper and legal secretary. She was the sole executor of her various real estate properties.
Yolanda was a philanthropist who sponsored many foster children in various countries, and who donated generously to numerous charities. She was a member of St. Anne's Sodality and had served as a volunteer in nursing homes and as an aide to those with developmental disorders. A loyal parishioner of Mary Mother of Mankind Church, she continued to faithfully attend mass despite growing physical challenges.
She cooked delectable meals and never sacrificed quality for expedition. She was a fine ballroom dancer and loved to dazzle on the dance floor with her beloved Benjamin. She was a talented artist and among her works were beautiful portraits of her children and grandchildren. As an accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed creating chic clothes. She savored music, the performing arts, and thoroughly enjoyed being an avid fan of the numerous theatrical performances of her grandchildren.
Yolanda Marie Cocozza was very intelligent, artistic, beautiful, fashionable, proud, honest, organized, loving, generous, and feisty. She will be sorely missed.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 PM. Entombment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
