William Pilkington

Pilkington, William K. 80, died Monday April 20, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of the late Suzanne L. (Berube) Pilkington. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ada (Kirk) Rushton.

He was a lifelong resident of Smithfield and was past-president of the Smithfield Raiders football team in the 1970's. Over the years he worked for Brown & Sharpe, B.I.F. Industries and Microfin Corporation.

Bill was an avid sports fan, especially of the Patriots, Red Sox and Providence College Friars. He loved to tell jokes and had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor with an ability to make anyone in the room smile and laugh.

He is survived by his children, William A. Pilkington and his wife Susan, Jon K. Pilkington and his wife Donna and Debra A. Wronkowski, six grandchildren, Robert Pilkington, Alexander and Alyssa Wronkowski, Samantha, Jennifer and Hope Pilkington, a half-sister, Alyce Pierce, a half-brother, Alan Rushton, and his companion Gerry Aspinwall. He will be missed by his family and friends.

His funeral will be held Saturday, April 25, at 10 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park.
