Kavanagh, William F., 67, of North Providence, died February 11, 2016 at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Denise A. (Mason) Kavanagh. They would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in May. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Francis and Beverly (Affleck) Kavanagh.
William had worked as a lineman for New England Telephone for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed building engines and working on cars, as well as spending time with his wife, sons and granddaughter. William was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, John Kavanagh and his wife Melissa of Barrington and Timothy Kavanagh and his wife Tanya of Bellingham, MA, a granddaughter, Lily Marchand-Kavanagh, and his siblings, Bryan Kavanagh, Susan Kavanagh, Laurie Burtchel, and Patrick Kavanagh. He was the brother of the late Bonnie Gallagher.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner St., Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours Monday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
