William G. Grimes

William G. Grimes, 66, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Christine A. (Geddes) Grimes. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph F. Grimes, Sr. and Agnes (DeSimone) Grimes.

William was the Director of Operations at Rhodes-on-the-Pawtuxet for many years before retiring.  As director, William strove to meet the needs of his patrons with the utmost care and attention. His genuine hospitality extended to all facets of his professional and personal life. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael Grimes (fiancée Crystal) and Gregory Grimes (wife Nikole), three grandchildren, Cayden, Scarlett, and Reese, his siblings, Deborah Procopio (husband Joseph), Mary Grimes, and James Grimes (partner Connie), and his brother-in-law, Joseph Murphy. He was the brother of the late Joseph Grimes, Jr., Sheila Murphy, Paul Grimes, and John Grimes.

His funeral will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 8:30 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours Thursday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital
