William J. D’Amico, 79, of North Providence, died on February 9, 2023. He was the husband of Renee J. (Desmarais) D’Amico. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Jenny Mary (Spinella) D’Amico.
William worked as a carpenter/toolmaker for most of his life. He worked at Brown University with the professors, where he made the first refrigerator box that went into space. He retired as a general contractor and carpenter. He was a lifetime member of the Greystone Social Club.
William loved fishing, spearfishing, gardening, working in his yard. He also enjoyed the beach and traveling to Florida every winter. Most of all, he loved his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Susan D’Amico, Jason D’Amico and his wife Jeanne, and Marisa Gomez and her husband David, four grandchildren, Olivia and Ashley Tourgee and Joseph and David Gomez, his sister, Barbara Della Porta, and two brothers, Raymond and Peter D’Amico. He was the brother of the late Richard D’Amico.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10 am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Inurnment will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours Thursday 6-8 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Continuum Hospice at https://www.continuumhospice.com/
