Wilfred Giroux

Giroux, Wilfred L., 65, of Smithfield, died on February 2, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.  He was the husband of Lauren A. (Bouchard) Giroux.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph E. and G. Yvonne (Emin) Giroux.

Wilfred worked for 30 years for Teknor Apex, retiring in 2018.  He was a man of strong faith and devoted to his family. His grandchildren were the loves of his life.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jeremy Sylvia and his husband Doug, Christopher Giroux and his wife Jessie, and Kevin Giroux and his wife Tori, five grandchildren, Louis, Myles, Faith, Eric, and Lily Giroux, a brother, Paul Giroux, and two sisters, Patricia and Norma Giroux.  He was the brother of the late Robert, Stephen, and John Giroux, and Carol Houle.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 10 am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield.  Burial in Highland Memorial Park will be private.    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Michael Church Social Justice Committee.
