Maloney, Vivian B. (Stenstrom), 88, died peacefully surrounded by her family on September 7, 2016 at Village at Waterman Lake. She was the wife of the late John A. Maloney. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Carl A. and Elin (Anderson) Stenstrom.

She was the devoted mother of Karen E. Anderson and her husband Jack of Glocester, Kathy A. Manocchia of Rehoboth, Laurie J. Oates and her husband Thomas of Glocester, three stepchildren, Mary Lou Vincent, John A. Maloney, and Paul J. Maloney, cherished grandmother of Kristin Hoppe, Justin Manocchia, Emily Neves, Eric Anderson, Jennifer Russo, Katie King, Lauren Manocchia, Trey and Brian Vincent, Jackie Stritzl, Michael, Ryan, and Kelly Maloney, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was the mother-in-law of the late Steven Manocchia, and sister of the late Doris Stenstrom.

Vivian was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1946 and was the first female bank teller at Citizens Bank. Vivian was a court appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteer for abused children. After retiring to Florida, she also volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She was a member of the Vasa Swedish Club and author of "A Cookbook of Swedish Memories".

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Village at Waterman Lake for all their kind care for the past nine years.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 10-11:15 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Requiem Eucharist at 12 Noon in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1 Smith Ave, Greenville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to RI Special Olympics, Wampanoag Warriors, 370 George Washington Hwy., Smithfield, RI 02917.
