Vera Nakowicz

Nakowicz, Vera (Ricci), 92, died October 19, 2009 at Elmhurst Extended Care Facility. She was the wife of the late Walter Nakowicz.

Born in Johnston, where she resided on George Waterman Rd. for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Domenica (DiMichaele) Ricci.

Vera had been a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church, Centredale, where she was a lifetime member of the St. Anne Sodality.

She leaves a son, Rev. Stanley Nakowicz of East Providence, a daughter, Ann O'Brien of North Providence, and a grandson, Robert O' Brien. She was the mother of the late Jean Nakowicz, mother-in-law of the late Robert O' Brien, and sister of the late Mollie DePetrillo, Rose DiSanto, Bertha, Cosmo, Nicholas, Benjamin, Vincent, and Anthony Ricci.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Lawrence Church. Graveside burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Lawrence Church, 624 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence, RI 02911.
