Venance Michele (McIntosh) Antonelli, 79, of Johnston passed away on Tuesday, May 10th at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1942 in Providence to Cecil & Adrienne (Etienne), she grew up in North Providence and attended Saint Patrick High School. A graduate of RI Hospital School of Nursing, Venance was an RN for many years working through Medical Personnel Pool at RI, Miriam and Fatima Hospitals. A former Girl Scout leader & active member of her community, she was a member of St. Philip’s Parish for over 50 years where she sang in the choir and was a Eucharistic Minister, bringing communion to many at Hebert's Nursing Home. As a dedicated wife and mother, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, spending time on Slacks Reservoir with her family, social & sporting events and dancing, most recently at Glocester Senior Center.
She is predeceased by her former husband, Richard R. (Dick) Antonelli. She is survived by her sisters, Solange Manni (Fred) of Cranston, Beverly Cote (Peter) of Fort Kent, ME and, her brother Paul McIntosh (Lucy) of Smithfield, her 4 children Raymond Antonelli (Jacquelyn) of Saint Marys, GA, Donna Houde (Richard) of North Providence, Anthony Antonelli of North Scituate and Lisa Curran (Gerard) of Richmond. She also leaves her grandchildren Kathryn Antonelli Kilpatrick (Steven), Dominic Antonelli (Maria), Laura Antonelli, Christopher Potter, Adrianna & Gabriel Houde, John (Jack), Jacob & Caitlin Curran, Alexis & Olivia Antonelli and a great granddaughter Bernadette Kilpatrick.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 17th from 4-7pm in Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, May 18th at 10 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Philip's Memorial Society.
