Thomas Vanner

Vanner, Thomas J., 61, of Smithfield, died December 7, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia E. (Paquette) Vanner. Born in Providence, he was a son of Elva (Phillips) Vanner of Smithfield and the late Thomas B. Vanner.

Thomas was a tutor at CCRI before retiring. He served with the RI Army National Guard, and was active with the Smithfield Softball League and the Smithfield Boys Soccer League.

Besides his wife and mother, he leaves three daughters, Dawn, Mary, and Stacy Vanner of Smithfield, a son Thomas Vanner of Cumberland, and a brother Frank Vanner of Smithfield. He was the brother of the late June Smith.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 7:45 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, with a Requiem Eucharist at 9AM in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Putnam Pike, Greenville. Calling hours Friday 4-7 PM. Burial will be Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
