Susan Cerroni

Cerroni, Susan (Bucci), formerly of Smithfield, passed away on August 26, 2024 at the home of her daughter after reaching the milestone of turning 100 years old. She was the wife of the late Luigi A. Cerroni. Born in Johnston, she was one of ten children of the late Pietro and Nicolina (Santucci) Bucci. She had lived in Johnston for 22 years, then residing in Smithfield for the rest of her life.

Susan worked in Mine Safety Appliance Co. and Worcester Co. until retirement. She was a member of the Smithfield Senior Center. She volunteered daily at Pleasant View Day Care, where she was affectionately called “Nana Sue” by all the little children.

She was the beloved mother of S. Jean Cerroni and her husband John Tassoni of Smithfield, Louis A. Cerroni and his wife Sheila of Wells, ME, Diane M. Romano and her husband Michael of Smithfield, the late Debra A. Cerroni-Kravitz and her husband Michael, and the late Dawn Sue Cerroni. She adored her grandchildren, David Monfils (Marie), Brian Cerroni (Danielle), Kevin Cerroni (Michelle), Michael Romano (Julie), Anthony Romano (Nicole), Jacob Kravitz (Shena), and Lisa Owens (Kevin), her great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Felicity, Reanna, Stella, Cecelia, Arianna, Avery, Casey, Anthony Jr., Nicolo, Sophia, and Liam, and a special great-great grandson, Kai. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 8:15-9:15 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Entombment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Church or HopeHealth Hospice
