Steven Albert Gagnon

Steven "Grummit" Albert Gagnon, 66, of North Providence, passed away September 10, 2023 at Fatima Hospital. He was a lifetime Smithfield resident.

Born September 6, 1957 in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Maureen (McGrath) and Thomas Gagnon.

A graduate of La Salle Academy, he went on to serve during peacetime with the United States Navy.

He then worked as a Diesel Mechanic for the Laborers Union Local 57. He had a passion for tinkering with engines, played the lottery frequently, loved John Wayne, followed Joel Osteen and all New England sports teams:  New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics, and never missed a game. The best times of his life were spent with his son.

He leaves one son, Randy Gagnon of Thompson, CT, one sister, Colette Muscarella of Bangor, Maine, and one brother, Garry Gagnon (Patricia) of Providence, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gagnon was the brother of the late Gregory Gagnon, Thomas Gagnon Jr., Celine Gagnon, and Marie Gagnon.

Funeral services with military honors and burial will be private.
