Stephen J. Boucher, age 72, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, in Fort Myers, Florida. He was the husband of Gail (Young) Murray Boucher. Born in Providence, RI he was the son of the late Nelson and Rita (Berube) Boucher.
Stephen graduated from North Providence High School and entered the United States Army in 1972 as a Private First Class Military Policeman, where he served in Germany under NATO. Upon being discharged he graduated from Salve Regina School of Nursing and obtained a position with Providence Veterans Administration Hospital as a psychiatric nurse working in MHICM, a community based program for veterans.
Stephen loved spending time with his wife Gail and family, traveling to warm climates, relaxing on the beach and finding new restaurants to sample the local cuisine. He loved music and was a huge fan of the Raiders and the Boston Red Sox.
Beside his loving wife Gail, he is survived by two daughters, Shawnte Romolo and Stephanie Boucher; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons; brothers Lawrence, David and Thomas Boucher and sisters Joanne Latour, Patricia Rini and Cathy Pannone. He was preceded in death by his brothers Nelson, Kenneth, and Richard and sister Carol Marsocci.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:00am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, with visitation from 10 to 11am. Burial with military honors will follow in the Young Family Historical Cemetery, 1253 Central Avenue Johnston, RI.
