Sheila A. Porter, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 20, 2024, on her 75th birthday in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Born on December 20, 1949, in Lexington, Michigan, Sheila's legacy is one of love and family devotion.
Sheila enjoyed a rewarding career as an administrative professional within the Athletic and Admissions Departments at the CCRI Lincoln and Warwick campuses in Rhode Island.
A long-time resident of North Providence, Rhode Island, Sheila moved to North New Jersey in 2006, to be closer to her grandchildren. David and Loriann are so thankful that she was such a huge part of their lives.
She loved sports and her favorite teams were any team her grandchildren were on - and the New England Patriots.
Her favorite verses were Proverbs 3:5-6, which spoke to her faith and values.
Sheila leaves behind a loving family, including her son David Porter; daughter-in-law Loriann Porter; grandchildren Tyler, Emma, and Sophie Porter; daughter-in-law Jean Porter; grandson Griffin Porter; and her brother Ray French. She is predeceased by her husband, Dave Porter; her mother, Evelyn French; stepson Richard Porter; and stepdaughter Julie Porter.
