Guccione, Salvatore A “Sammy”., 98, of North Providence, died Sunday November 5, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Vienna (Principe) Guccione for over 65 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Salamone) Guccione.

Salvatore worked at Providence Granite and Castellucci & Associates for many years as a stone cutter. After retiring from Bentley Machinery, Salvatore worked at Simon Chevrolet until he was 85 years old. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII and was an avid fan of the Red Sox and New England Patriots.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Anthony Guccione and his wife Jean and a brother Palmo Guccione. He was the father of the late Dino and David Guccione, grandfather of the late Anthony Guccione, Jr, and a brother of the late Nancy Fiorentini, Ella Vestri, Susie Leo and Anna Lombari.

His visitation will be held Wednesday from 9-10AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a funeral home service at 10AM. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
