Hagen, Ronald J., 77, died Saturday July 5, 2014 at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Louise (Sousa) Hagen; they would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in September. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles and Irene (Flannelly) Hagen.

Ronald worked as an electrician for over 15 years at Jay Electric in Providence. He then worked for RI Catholic Cemeteries at St. Francis cemetery in Pawtucket for almost 30 years, retiring in 2001. Ronnie played softball for many years. He played on Taylor Construction when they won the State Championship three consecutive years, 1968-1970. He also played and coached for the Backstop Pub in Warwick and he was an avid Red Sox fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Debra A. Petteruto and her husband Allan of North Providence, Donna M. Clements and her husband Colonel Hugh T. Clements, Jr., PPD, of East Greenwich, and Lori L. Hagen of North Providence, five grandchildren, Allan M., Jr., Ashley C., and Matthew R. Petteruto, Kayleigh A. and Kourtney A. Clements, two brothers, Richard C. of Warwick, Robert W. of North Scituate and a sister, Joan M. Goyette of Pawtucket. He was the brother of the late Donald Hagen.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:45AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Augustine Church, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ronnie's memory to Jessie's Dream, c/o Kathie Hagen Morris, 80 Chapel St., Lincoln, RI 02865, a scholarship fund established in memory of his niece, Jessica Morris.
