Ronald Giessler

Giessler, Ronald E. "Grunt", 67, died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Denise (Newton) Giessler for 39 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Ralph and Louise (Chagnon) Giessler.

Ronald worked at Domenic and Sons Floor Covering. He was a former member of the Greystone Social Club and was a member of the Smithfield Firefighters Golf League. Ronald was an Army Veteran of Vietnam.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Brian Giessler and his wife Courtney and Amanda Giessler, a grandson, Preston Giessler, and three siblings, Eric, Kenneth and Jeannette.

His funeral will be held Friday at 10AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Philip Church, Greenville. Burial with military honors will follow at the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours Thursday 4-8PM.
