Lanoue, Roger Gerard "Gerry", 70, a longtime resident of North Providence, died peacefully at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield, on May 12, 2015. He was the son of the late Rene and Jeanne (Bertrand) Lanoue.

Born in Woonsocket, he attended schools in Cumberland Hill and Manville. He did his high school studies at Sacred Heart Academy, Central Falls. From 1960-70, he was a mbmber of the Brothers of Our Lady of Providence, being know in religion as Brother Gerard. He earned his B.A. Degree from Salve Regina College, Newport, and his Master's Degree in Criminal Justie from Anna Maria College, Paxton, Mass.

He is survived by his sister, Sister Madeleine Lanoue, Sister of Saint Anne, of Lachine, Quebec, and by his brother, Richard Lanoue, of Gulf Breeze, Florida. He also leaves behind two nephews and one niece, as well as several friends.

Visiting hours will be held 4-7 pm on Thursday, May 14 (Today), in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. His funeral will be held Friday at 10 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave. There will be a private burial in St. James Cemetery, Manville, after cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Society of Rhode Island.
