Robert J. (Bobby) Veader, age 71 of North Providence, passed away July 15, 2015 at Hospice of Rhode Island. He was the son of the late Lewis and Mary(Dorazio)Veader.
He is survived by his daughter Donna, her husband Domenic, grandson Angelo and his beloved cat Jeter. He also leaves his brothers Thomas Veader, William Veader and his sisters Mary Jane Corrente, Joan Bradley, Debra Celletti and her husband Roger. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins. He will be sorely missed by his ever faithful cat Jeter and many lifelong friends.
Bobby was a man of humor, love, and kindness, a dear friend to so many. Before retiring, he was a lifelong cook. He was a very proud NY Yankees fan.
Bobby was a U.S. Army veteran who served his country honorably as a cook. He was on active duty from 1964 to 1965 in Korea, 1965 to 1969 in Germany. He was the proud recipient of the National
Defense Service Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal and an expert M14 rifleman. He additionally served in the U.S. National Guard.
He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
Visitation will be held Saturday 10-11 am with a service at 11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence. Military honors will follow. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in to Hospice of Rhode Island or CAWS Veterinary Hospital
