Rita Verdone

Verdone, Rita (Napolitano), 75, formerly of Greenville Ave., died April 14, 2009 at Roger Williams Medical Center. She was the former wife of the late Alfred L. Verdone. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Marie (Olivo) Napolitano.

Rita worked for Fernando Originals of North Providence for many years before retiring. She enjoyed bingo.

She leaves four children, Donna Desrosiers, Gail Verdone, Lori Tella and her late husband Daniel, and Alfred Verdone, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was sister of the late Ann Oliver, Etta Nardolillo, Dora Shaw, and Charles Napolitano.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Thomas Church, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 pm.
