Rita Ryan

Ryan, Rita A. (Ostiguy), 90, died March 19, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Ryan, Jr. Born in North Providence, she was a daughter of the late Alphonse and Ellen (Paine) Ostiguy.

Rita is survived by five sons, Thomas F. Ryan III of Rockwell, TX, Joseph D. Ryan of Oviedo, FL, Raymond M. Ryan of North Providence, Robert M. Ryan of West Warwick, and Michael V. Ryan of North Providence, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Edmund and Raymond Ostiguy and Dorothy Mahoney.

Rita was a secretary for Fabro Jewelry Company for 30 years, retiring in 1995. She was a 1938 graduate of St. Xavier's Academy. Rita was a communicant of the former St. Lawrence Church, where she sang in the choir for many years, and past president of its St. Anne's Sodality. She was a member of the North Providence Senior Center and performed with the Happy Notes for seven years.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church. Burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8 pm.
