Richard Ferguson

Ferguson, Richard E. (Daddy), 81, of Smithfield, formerly of Newport, passed away July 17, 2015. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Elliott and Elizabeth (Carter) Ferguson.

He is survived by his wife, Jo an and children, Jean Bonafiglia, Richard Ferguson, Janet Erickson, and Robert Ferguson, grandchildren, Amanda and Zachary Ferguson, Melissa, Carolyn, Kaitlin and Anthony Bonafiglia, great- grandchildren, Jeniyah Bonafiglia, Alexa Krum and Mason Montanez. He was the brother of Jon Taylor, Gale Gervais, Joyce Pitts and the late Frederic Ferguson and Betsy Bankauskas. He also leaves a cousin and several nieces and nephews.

Richard lived in Newport, RI where he worked at the Black Pearl Restaurant before retiring. He then returned to Smithfield to be closer to his family. He enjoyed carpentry, landscaping and visits to Disney World. He was a US Army Veteran.

A visitation will be held Wednesday from 8:30-10AM with a service at 9AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery, Portsmouth.
