Carpenter, Richard G., 97, of North Providence, died October 6, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Christina (De Luca) Carpenter. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late George and Rose (Roy) Carpenter.
Richard was a janitor for the Town of North Providence, retiring in 1986. He had previously worked for the former Tip-Top Bakery in Providence. Richard was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Bouffard Council, a member of the Salvatore Mancini Center, and an avid bowler. He was a WWII Army Veteran.
He leaves many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late George, Edward, Normand, Raymond, Robert Carpenter, Gloria Provonsil, and Clarice Martella.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 10 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Church of the Presentation. Burial with military honors in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours Wednesday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to a charity of your choice.
