Rene Parenteau

Parenteau, Rene A., 93, of Johnston, passed away on August 13, 2016 at Cherry Hill Manor. He was the husband of Regina L (Golembiewski) Parenteau. Born in Canada, he was a son of the late Jean Baptiste and Delia (Salvas) Parenteau.

Rene was a bricklayer for the Rhode Island Laborers Union until retiring. He was veteran of WWII, serving in the Army.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his stepdaughter, Joyce Zanni and her husband Gilbert, three grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, and his sister, Florance Lennox. He was the brother of the late Lionel Parenteau, Yvonne Bissanti, Del Aldrich, and Jeannette Laliberte.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 8:15-9:15 in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Home for Children, 420 Fruit Hill Ave., North Providence, RI 02911.
