SMITHFIELD - Raymond Pavia, of 180 Log Rd, age 89, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 just 8 days short of his 90th birthday at Fatima Hospital.
Born in E. Providence, RI, he spent the remainder of his days as a resident of Smithfield, RI. He was a Corporal in the United States Air Force, a member of the Local 523 Iron Workers Union. “Uncle Ray” was preceded in death by his only sister, Beatrice P. Pacheco. He is survived by nephews Frank J Pacheco, Jr and wife Peg; Edward E. Pacheco and wife Nancy; niece Paula DeBerardinis, and preceded in death by his niece, Mary Ann Marino. He also leaves behind many great nephews and nieces and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A private funeral service will be held Friday, September 21st, 10:00 am at Veterans’ Cemetery officiated by Pastor Andy Schelling of Ocean State Baptist Church, Smithfield, RI. Arrangements made by Elliott M. Robbins Funeral Home ~ the Family extends it’s sincerest gratitude for their compassionate and informative assistance with all the arrangements. A special thanks to Jennifer at Robbins as well as the nurses and doctors at Fatima Hospital for their wonderful care for Uncle Ray in his final days.
