Raymond Chapdelaine

Chapdelaine, Raymond E., 90, formerly of North Providence died July 20, 2009 at the Scandinavian Home. He was the husband of the late Annette I. (Laboissonniere) Chapdelaine and son of the late Doria and Hattie (Sicard) Chapdelaine.

Raymond worked as an electrician for ITT Intellex Systems Inc., Providence for 20 years before retiring in 1980. He also worked for the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics, Groton. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Council, Knights of Columbus. An Army veteran of WWII, he was a member of the Lymansville Post #10011, VFW and was commander of the former Darnbrough Parkin Post #152, VFW in Centredale.

He leaves two daughters, Joan M. Chapdelaine of Tunkhannock, PA and Susan A. Chapdelaine Campbell of Cranston, one brother, L. Paul Chapdelaine of Smithfield, and three sisters, Alice Gorman of Smithfield, Rita Toolan of Warwick, and Norma Barrett of Lincoln. He was a brother of the late Yvonne Lavallee, Roland Chapdelaine, and Theresa Couture.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Calling Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Burial, with military honors, will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery.
