Carrara, Raymond C., age 86, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2014 at Elmhurst Extended Care, Providence with his loving family by his side. He was the loving husband and caretaker of the late Mona I. (Slicer) Carrara. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Gosidio and Anna (Checca) Carrara; he is preceding a loving sister Irene Belhumeur of California, brother Edward Carrara of Florida and sister Anita Delbonis of R.I.
Ray was a hard working carpenter by trade and built many homes, apartment buildings and businesses within R.I. After retirement, he enjoyed with his wife a life of buying and selling antiques, you could often see him at an auction or a flea market doing what he enjoyed best; talking to people and making new friends. His neighbors and friends were very important to him throughout his life. He will be sadly missed.
Raymond is survived by two children, Christine Maselli and her husband, Richard of Ormond Beach, Florida and Raymond C. Carrara "Chip" and his wife Eleanor of North Providence, three grandchildren, Christopher Maselli of Johnston, Danielle Maselli of North Providence, and Alicia Carrara-Wheeler and her husband, Michael of North Providence. He had three great-grandchildren, Giancarlo and Giuliana Maselli and Matthew Wheeler.
A private graveside service will be held per his wishes at Highland Memorial Park.
