McCord, Ralph, 88, of Johnston, died Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Briarcliffe Manor. He was the husband of Angelina (Rotondo) McCord. Born in Anderson, IN, he was a son of the late James and Annie McCord.
He was a conductor for Amtrak for many years before retiring. He served in the US Navy in World War II. Following the war he enlisted in the Marine Corps, served two years, then enlisted in the RI Army National Guard for a time. He then enlisted in the US Air Force for 4 years, finally serving with the RI Air National Guard from 1966 to 1984.
A communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, he served as a lector, was a member of the Holy Name Society, and was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund, Our Lady of Grace Church, 4 Lafayette St., Johnston, RI 02919.
