Queen Kalian, 91, beloved daughter of the late George and Mary (Saregavorian) Kalian, passed away into eternal life on the morning of July 8, 2023.. Born in Providence, RI on November 4, 1931, she was the sister of the late John M. Kalian (Iris) and the late Robert V. Kalian (Anna).
"Queenie" enjoyed a full family life at home with her parents until their passing. She then gained a new family at the Fogarty Center, where she lived since 2010. She worked at the Picillo Center for close to ten years.
Kind and gentle with a bit feistiness, Queenie loved her family, their pets, and being helpful at home. She was devout in her Armenian faith and attended Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church regularly. She was close to her Roland Street family, her caregivers and housemates, who called her "Grandma" and "Auntie," in a loving tribute to their oldest resident.
Queenie was also survived by nieces and nephews. Her family is grateful for Hope Hospice and is deeply appreciative of the kind and caring staff of the Fogarty Center who knew her so well and cared for her with love and dignity during the later years of her life. "Auntie Queenie" will never be forgotten and will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be held from 10-11 a.m. at Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson Street, Providence, RI with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the North Burial Ground in Providence.
