Paul Gavlick, Jr.

Gavlick, Paul W. Jr., 77, of 25 McGuire Rd, North Providence, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Paul Sr. and Stella Gavlick and brother of the late Irene Szczepanek. Paul leaves three sons, Paul Gavlick III of North Providence, Matt and Mark Gavlick of Warwick. He also leaves two grandchildren, Lauren and Evan Gavlick of North Providence. Paul was a mechanic in the US Air Force and spent the remainder of his career in trucking, serving as Union Steward for Jones Motor, Inc. Paul spoke fluent Polish. An avid chess player to the very end, he played for more than 30 years, several years holding the title of RI Speed Chess Champion. All arrangements were private. www.robbinsfuneralhome.com
