Coombs, Paul F., 79, formerly of Robin St., North Providence, a former bread salesman and driver, died on January 22, 2022 at Crystal Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was the husband of the late Lynnette J. Pace-Coombs. He is survived by his first cousin, Susan (Pettee) Augustus.
Born in Providence, RI, the son of the late J. Franklin and Lois E. (Tupper) Coombs, he previously lived in Smithfield, Warwick, and Johnston.
Mr. Coombs attended public school in Smithfield and graduated from North Providence High School.
He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Coombs worked as a jet engine mechanic at Kaman Aircraft for two years and Quonset Naval Air Station until they closed. He worked as a driver salesman for the Ward Baking Company and I.B.C./Nissen Baking Company.
He was an avid Red Sox fan and loved playing golf. He was also a life member of the North American Fishing Club.
At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Burial in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, will be private.
