Onorina Libby

Libby, Onorina (Iafrate), 97, recently of Clermont FL, passed on December 31, 2018.  She was married to the late Harry Libby for 24 years until his passing in 1983.  Born in Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Louisa (Gabriele) Iafrate.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Libby Hanna and her husband Stephen of Clermont, granddaughters, Ruth Hanna of Cambridge, MA and Caroline Meadow of Norway, a sister, Anne Eddy of Redlands, CA, and many nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Arialdo and Alfred Iafrate and Louise Boudreau.

Onorina was a seamstress and homemaker.  She worked for many years at Pease Awning in East Providence, sewing commercial Awnings.  She made and altered countless wedding gowns, dresses, coats, and clothes for her family and friends and was always a classy and stylish dresser.  She loved to travel and visited England, Ukraine, and Turkey along with many trips to visit family in Italy.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church.  Burial will be private in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery.  Visitation Friday 5-8 pm.
