Mary F. Laughter

Mary F. Laughter (Cahill), 90, of Johnston, passed away on February 27, 2025 at Cherry Hill Manor. She was the wife of the late Lloyd Laughter. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Miley) Cahill.

Mary and her late husband were foster parents for over 15 years to mostly special needs children. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She was known to be quiet, caring, and reflective, as well as a devout Christian.

She is survived by her son, John Laughter and his wife, Cheryl, two grandchildren, Emily and Carson Laughter, two great-grandchildren, Amelia and Thomas, her sister, Eleanor Sherman, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Daniel Cahill, Dorothy Laughter, and Jean Cahill.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 12 Noon in the chapel at Highland Memorial Park, 1 Rhode Island Ave., Johnston.
