Margaret Jasper

Jasper, Margaret L. (Rugg), 85, of Cumberland, formerly of Johnston, died May 6, 2012 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre. She was the wife of the late Henry P. Jasper. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Stacia (Golomboski) Rugg.

Margaret worked for the Johnston School Department for 23 years as a clerk at the superintendent's office before retiring. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, bowling, traveling, and playing cards.

She leaves two sons, Richard Jasper and his wife Teresa of Virginia, Kenneth Jasper and his wife Diane of Cumberland, three grandchildren, Amanda, Nicole, and Matthew Jasper, two brothers, Charles Rugg Jr. and Edward Rugg, and the many great friends she made throughout her life. She was the sister of the late Robert Rugg.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 pm.
