Lucille E. Payette

Lucille E. Payette (Girard), 81, of Woonsocket, passed away on January 14, 2025 at Briarcliffe Manor. She was the loving and devoted wife of Meddy Payette, Sr. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Emile and Jeannette (Frappier) Girard. 

 Lucille loved traveling with Meddy. As travel companions, they visited many wonderful places together from the exotic Hawaiian Islands to the breathtaking Amalfi coast. From the majestic mountains of the European Alps, where they experienced two of the most exhilarating train rides up two of the most famous mountains in Europe, if not the world, the Matterhorn and the Jungfrau, to many of the ancient European cities…Lucille loved it all!  

Lucille also really enjoyed dancing, and as a faithful dance partner throughout their beautiful marriage, and upon reflecting through the eyes of time, Meddy has come to find symbolically that they were really just dancing together through life, from the moment they first met and throughout the 60 wonderful years of marriage. 

 Besides her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Meddy Jr. and Michael Payette, her grandson, Michael Robert Payette, her sisters, Marguerite Grumbach (Albert) and Helene Dziok (Gerald), and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 9:15-10:15 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by a funeral service at 11 am in Ocean State Baptist Church, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Lincoln.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
