Walsh, Louise M. (Garvey), 80, of Smithfield, died April 7, 2010 at the Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles S. Walsh for over 50 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Harriet (Murphy) Garvey.

Mrs. Walsh was a librarian aide at the East Smithfield Public Library for over 30 years before retiring. She was a summer resident of Roy Carpenter's Beach and a former resident of Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Louise leaves seven children, Kathleen M. Walsh of Smithfield, Sheila L. Walsh-Hampton and her husband David of Midlothian, VA, Col. Charles F. Walsh and his wife Carolyn of Smithfield, Timothy J. Walsh of Smithfield and Cathy Walsh of North Providence, John M. Walsh and his wife Laurie of North Providence, Michaela A. Reynolds and her husband Dr. John Reynolds of Scarborough, ME, and Mary-Elizabeth Fornaro and her husband Timothy of North Providence. She was the grandmother of Rachel, Kaitlin, Justin, Charles, Cara, Michaela, Mary-Catherine, and the late Samantha M. Walsh, step grandmother of Brad and Alicia Pari, and sister-in-law of Mary Garvey. She was sister of the late Roberta Cummings and Francis Garvey Jr.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 7:45 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling Hours Friday 3-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Smithfield Public Library, 50 Esmond St, Smithfield, RI 02917.
