Guarino, Louis A., 81, of Glocester, a retired self-employed plumber, died January 8, 2012 at Overlook Nursing Home. He was the husband of Anna C. (Elgar) Guarino. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Paul and Josephine (Musto) Guarino. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and an avid Red Sox Fan.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Donna M. Smith and her husband Michael of Greenville, a son, Louis A. Guarino, Jr. of Glocester, four grandchildren, Melissa Smith-McGinity, Jessica Guarino, Jayson Smith, and Jennifer D'Antonio, four great-grandchildren, Domenic Smith, Lindsay Smith, Ashton D'Antonio, and Henry McGinity, a brother, Paul Guarino, and two sisters, Barbara Kulz and Bettie Smith.
His funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial with military honors in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
