Loretta Hughes

Hughes, Loretta M. (Gilleran), 97, of Cranston, died August 6, 2017 at her daughter’s home. She was the wife of the late William F. Hughes, Jr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Eugene F. and Eileen J. (Ware) Gilleran.

Loretta was the dedicated mother of Maureen H. Day and her husband Harrison and William D. Hughes and his wife Christine and the loving grandmother of William F. Hughes III and Marisa C. Hughes. She was the sister of Joseph Gilleran, Rita Dragon, and Robert Gilleran and sister-in-law of Thomas J. Kelly. She was the sister of the late Eileen Turgeon, Madeline Campbell, Eugene Gilleran, and Lillian Fallens.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 4-7 pm.
