Breault, Laura L. (Desmarais) 83, of Waterman Ave., died Wednesday October 9, 2013 at the Elmhurst Extended Care. She was the wife of Edward Breault. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Laura A. (Cartier) Desmarais.
Laura was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, member of the Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Women's Club of Notre Dame Parish, Executive officer of the Injured Workers of RI, and treasurer of the ACA Insurance in Central Falls. Laura was also President of the Washington Hill Tenant Association, secretary for the Bradford Court Association, and Officer for Women of the Moose. She loved to sing and play the piano, and made her debut in 1948 at Tolman High School in Pawtucket. Laura was a student of Rene Viau and belonged to Dame the St. Tones.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Marie T. Boule of Florida, Edward R. Breault of North Providence, Doris White and her husband Howard of North Providence and Paul L. Breault of Coventry, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 7:45 - 9:45 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a chapel service in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gerald R. Lemay Scholarship Fund, c/o Central Falls Teachers Union, PO Box 182, Central Falls, RI 02863.
