Tyas, Kenneth J., 83, of Milton St, died January 18, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, and also the compassionate care of Beacon Hospice. He was the husband of the late Constance C. (Marchetti) Tyas. Born August 29, 1927 in Johnston, he was a son of the late Frederick and Martha (Sherlock) Tyas.

Kenneth was the traffic manager for Cable Electric and Leviton Mfg. before retiring in 1988. He was a former President of the Johnston Town Council, a former member of the FOP, and was a US Navy veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his four daughters, Lynda Iannuccilli of Johnston, Sharon Saran of Harrisville, Kendra Camilloni of Cranston, and Lory Morra of Johnston, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Kenneth Tyas, Jr. and Sandra Cauley, and brother of the late Albert Tyas and Barbara Holland.

His funeral will be held Monday at 11 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by a Eucharist at 12 Noon in St. Albans's Church, 1964 Smith St. Burial, with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Callings hours are Sunday 4-6 PM.
