Smithfield

Joyce Edith Beaudry, a cherished matriarch and devoted friend, passed away peacefully in her beloved Smithfield home on January 29, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 19, 1941, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, she gracefully traversed life with kindness, nurturing those around her with a heart as expansive as her talents. Joyce was the epitome of a devoted stay-at-home mother, always prioritizing her family in a way that left an indelible mark on their hearts.

As the backbone of her family, she inspired with her loving demeanor, welcoming spirit, and a constant smile that brightened the lives of many. She was a great cook, renowned for bringing her famous Beaudry baked beans to every gathering, and was known affectionately for her ability to craft the perfect s'mores while camping. These little joys blossomed from her passion for gardening alongside her beloved husband, Ronald A. Beaudry, with whom she spent 58 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they cultivated not only a beautiful vegetable garden each year but also warm family traditions including Sunday dinners, Thanksgiving celebrations, and treasured family reunions that brought together generations.

Joyce’s creative spirit flourished in a myriad of hobbies; from crafting and cake decorating to painting, sewing, and photography, her artistic endeavors were rooted in love. She delighted in capturing moments shared with her family, reflecting her profound appreciation for togetherness. Her faith in God was unwavering as a dedicated Jehovah's Witness, attending and participating in meetings and community gatherings throughout her life. This devotion further exemplified her desire for connection, extending to the friendships she cultivated along the way.

She leaves behind three loving brothers: Jack Trask of New Hampshire, Ken Trask of Massachusetts, and Paul Trask of Smithfield, Rhode Island. Her nurturing nature extended to her four children: Jerilyn K. Beaudry of North Providence; Linda L. Lucier and partner Norman Mello of East Providence; Steven R. Beaudry of Smithfield; and Paul A. Beaudry and partner Tom Testa of North Providence. Joyce’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Joshua Lucier and wife Krista of Washington State, Jillian Beaudry of Colorado, Grace Beaudry of Boston, Massachusetts, and Lily Beaudry of Smithfield. She was also the proud great-grandmother to Zamera, Zerynity, and Zekeriah Lucier, reassuring them of her love from afar.

Preceding her in death were her dear husband Ronald, her beloved mother, Marjorie E. Galvin Trask, and her father, Earl W. Trask. As relatives and friends gather to honor her memory, they are reminded of the rich tapestry of connections she wove throughout her life.

Joyce Edith Beaudry’s light will continue to shine brightly through the love and memories shared by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit remains woven into the fabric of her family's lives, a constant reminder of a woman who loved deeply and spread joy with every smile.
