Joseph Marwell, Jr.

Marwell, Joseph Jr., 84, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara L. (Gardiner) Marwell. A life-long resident of North Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Madeline (Maher) Marwell.

Joseph was the owner and operator of both Marwell Trucking Corporation and Northeast Busing Company. He was a former volunteer and member of the Centredale Fire Department. He was a member of VFW Post # 10011 and a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Marwell was the recipient of the prestigious Eagle Spirit Award from the U.S. Postal Service.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Jay Marwell and his wife Mary, Mark Marwell, and Jeffrey Marwell and his wife Patricia all of North Providence, and two grandchildren, Marissa and Jennifer Marwell.

His funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 PM.
