Joseph Ingegneri

Ingegneri, Joseph F., 94, formerly of Johnston, passed away Friday January 6, 2017 at Brookdale Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Amodeo) Ingegneri. Born in Boston, MA, he was a son of the late Dr. Frederick and Esther (Tagliabue) Ingegneri.

Joseph was an Assistant Physical Plant Director of Rhode Island College for 20 years before retiring in 1982. Previous to this employment with Rhode Island College, he was a Salesman at Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company of Providence for 18 years. Joseph was a member of the former Knights of Columbus, St. Rocco’s Council, and a member of the American Legion. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by a son, Benedict Ingegneri and his wife Rose Marie of Narragansett, two daughters, Janet I. Ferro and Joe of Somers, CT and Sally A. Ingegneri of Johnston, seven grandchildren, Dr. Ben Ingegneri, Ret. Lt. Col. Robert Ingegneri, Brad Ingegneri, Craig Ferro, Ashley Ferro-Farr, Capt. Douglas Ferro, and Brandon Ingegneri. He also had sixteen great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Benedict Ingegneri.

Joseph's hobbies included fishing, golfing, playing tennis with his late wife, going to the beach, and spending time with his grandchildren. From the boiler room to the board room, his legacy was the gift of making everyone laugh.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 from 8:15- 9:15AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave, Johnston. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
