Joseph Grimes

Grimes, Joseph F., 83, of Watauga Ave., died August 25, 2011 at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Agnes R. (DeSimone) Grimes. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late George and Emma (Donnelly) Grimes.

Joseph was a truck driver for New England Motor Freight for many years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 251 and the Centredale Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, William G. Grimes of Cumberland, Paul A. and James P. Grimes, both of North Providence, three daughters, Deborah L. Procopio of Foster, Sheila A. Murphy of Providence, and Mary E. Grimes of Hooksett, NH, nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was the father of the late John F. and Joseph F. Grimes and brother of the late Paul, George, and Mary Grimes and Eleanor Clemente.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours Monday 4-8 pm.
