Joseph Albanese

Albanese, Joseph, 83, died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the husband of Anna (Gabriele) Albanese. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Domenica (Mancini) Albanese.

Joseph was a police officer for the town of North Providence for 14 years. He was a professional drummer with many local bands. Joseph served in the U.S. Army and was an avid Rex Sox and Patriots fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph Albanese and his wife Debbie and John Albanese, a grandson Derek Albanese, a brother, Leonard Albanese and his wife Jean, and a daughter-in-law, Paula Albanese. He was the father of the late Steven Albanese, brother of the late Lena DeStefano, Andrew Albanese, Edith Simeone, Anna Polce, Esther Betts and Albert Albanese, and son-in-law of the late Federico and Rita Gabriele.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St. North Providence. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours Sunday 4-7PM.
