Jonathan Block

Block, Jonathan, 74, of Cranston, died on April 16, 2021 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center.  He was the husband of the late Rosemary (Coppa) Block.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late David and Ruth (Laycock) Block.

Jonathan was a machinist at Electric Boat for many years before retiring.  He served in the Unites States Navy during the Vietnam era.  He was an avid sportsman, New York Yankees and New England Patriots fan.  Those who knew him remember that his favorite word was “adequate”.

He is survived by his cousin, Doreen C. Pikor and her husband Dan Sauro, his niece, Stephanie Young, his nephew, Stephen Christopher, and two great-nieces, Emma Rose Young and Liara P. Young.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston.  Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  Calling hours Thursday 6-8 pm.
