John T. "Jt" Perry

February 25, 1942 — August 25, 2021

North Providence

Perry, John T. “JT” (Captain, USAF, Retired), 79, of North Providence, died on August 25, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.  He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Christie) Perry for 36 years.  Born in North Attleboro, he was a son of the late John J. and Mary (Mello) Perry.

Upon completion of high school, JT enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in Korea, Thailand, and Africa.  He served for 20 years, during which time, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University.  Upon retiring as a Captain, he furthered his education, receiving his Master’s Degree from Bryant College.  He then was an instructor of Business Management at Bryant University for 18 years.

JT had many hobbies, most notably, playing various musical instruments.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph A. Perry and his wife Min Wu Perry, six grandchildren, including Krystal K. Perry, whom he raised, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Diana K. Perry and his siblings, Margaret, Eleanor, and Arnold.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 10-12 in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  His funeral service with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the RI ACLU or James L. McGuire Elementary School.
