Toner, John E., 86, of Chepachet, died on September 9, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Marilyn A. (Crook) Toner for 59 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Ready) Toner.
John worked for both Coro and R.N. Koch as a foreman until retiring. After retirement, he devoted his life to his grandchildren. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch with his wife, spending time with family, and was an avid football fan.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, John J. Toner of Johnston, his daughter, Lynn A. Clark and her husband Steven of Chepachet, four grandchildren, Amanda Clark, Steven Clark Jr., Jennifer Dorothy, and Jessica Clark, and his great-grandson, James Dorothy. He was the brother of the late Joan Toner.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 8-9 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church, 183 Sayles Ave., Pascoag. Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to INSIGHT, 43 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick, RI 02888.
