John Tate, Sr.

John R. Tate, Sr., 82, of North Providence, passed at on January 10, 2023 at Crystal Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation.  He was the son of the late George H. and Lily (Metcalf) Tate and husband of the late Anita (Lambert) Tate.

John is survived by his son, John R. Tate, Jr. of Harrisville, his sister, Sheila Neill of Pawtucket, two grandchildren, Tiffany A. Torres of New Mexico and Kyle W. Tate of Johnston, two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Torres and Gavin Torres.  He also leaves two nephews, Michael Neill of Florida and Mark Neill of Lincoln, as well as four stepchildren, Robert Passano, Denise Campopiano, Steven Passano, and Michelle Walker.

John was a graduate of Pawtucket West.  He served in the Army from 1959-62, during which time he was stationed in Germany.  He was a retired meter reader from Valley Gas Company and a part time tractor trailer driver.

He will surely be missed.  Love you, Dad.  According to his wishes, services and burial were private.
